Succulents are considered some of the hardiest plants in the garden. They are naturally found in hot climates with less rain. They store water in their leaves, so they can survive in times with no water. These wonderful plants are drought-tolerant and they even thrive with neglect. They do need water to survive. Just make sure they are completely dried out before they are watered again. Succulents like to grow in porous, well draining soil. I use a cactus/succulent mix. It can help with proper drainage. To ensure the health of the succulents, it is important not to over water them. They don't like to sit in wet soil. Sitting in wet soil too long will cause root rot and death to these beautiful plants.
